Chai Nat is a wealthy province located in the north side of Thailand. It is an ancient, resourceful land, filled with historical places and charming history. Chai Nat is divided into 8 district including the Chai Nat Cit™y district, Hun Ka District, Manorom district, Suk Buri district, Suppaya district, Wat Sing district, Nong Ma Mong district and Nern Kham district. Chai Nat is famous for its handmade products that include basketry, pottery, and wavering. The products made in this city are notorious for their high grade and inexpensiveness.
WatPhraBorommathatWorawihan is a historic temple on the bank of the Chao Phraya River. A Second Class royal temple, it has maintained its status as a national treasure since the early Ayutthaya period. Within the temple compound, an old pagoda in the U Thong style is said to house relics of the Lord Buddha and is widely-revered by local residents and Thais in general. Originally constructed with laterite in the Khmer period, the pagoda, or Chedi, was renovated during the Ayutthaya and the Rattanakosin periods. An annual fair is held to worship the relics during the full moon on the sixth lunar month.
Wat Pak KhlongMakhamThao, otherwise known as WatLuangpu Suk, is a historic temple situated at the mouth of a canal called KhlongMakhamThao. Legend has it there was an old tamarind tree, or โ€MakhamThaoโ€ in Thai, in front of the temple and on the bank of the Chao Phraya River, after which the temple and canal were named. The shady temple offers pleasant scenery and houses murals painted by the Master of the Thai navy, HRH Prince of Chumphon.
Built in 1983, Chai Nat Bird Park is the largest aviary in Asia, where over 100 bird species live and flourish in natural surroundings. Over 60 other cages of birds populate the park. Small man-made waterfalls, gardens, a snake park, a rabbit park, and a wild animal park provide additional interesting sites to visit. A pavilion, located in the middle of a pond, offers respite from the sun.
Space Water Park The 10-rai water park is a popular tourist and leisure destination for those who visit the bird park in the hot weather, in the colorful gardens of the NAKA ROBOT slider. The five streamers with a height of about 4 floors are very popular with children.
The damโ€s opening ceremony, dated February 7, 1957, was presided over by both His Majesty King BhumibolAdulyadej and Her Majesty Queen Sirikit. The dam is beautiful particularly between January and February, when it is home to thousands of waterfowl. The dam also serves a practical purpose, releasing water from the northern region to the central lower basin for irrigation, hydroelectric power, and to conserve marine animals. The Chao Phraya Dam provides 19 rooms for hire at 600 baht a night.
